Director of Pharmacy
Director, Pharmaceutical Services
Description: Establishes and coordinates all pharmaceutical services for TUHC & Elmwood Rehab.to include: development and monitoring of distributive services including control of pharmaceutical purchasing, receipt, storage, compounding, and dispensing; development, monitoring and continuous improvement of both clinical pharmacy staff/services and distributive staff; consultation with medical staff and patient care providers as an advisor/educator regarding pharmaceutical care. Oversees and directs departmental activities to ensure quality services for both internal and external customers. Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with others to advance the hospital mission. Have 7-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day "bottom line" responsibility for a significant component of the hospital's operations. Accountable for financial operations and implementation of hospital (and service line) goals within their area of responsibility. Participate in strategic planning for the hospital and/or service line of which they are a part. Qualifications: (Minimum qualifications for the position) Licensure/Certification/Registration: Louisiana licensed pharmacist or eligible. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from a college accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE). Advanced degree (PharmD or MS in Pharmacy Administration) preferred. Master of Health Administration or Master of Business Administration (MHA or MBA) recommended. Experience: Minimum of 5 year's post-graduate management experience in institutional pharmacy; preferably 10 or more years of progressive leadership responsibility with previous experience as a Director of Pharmacy. Special qualifications: Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period. ASHP/ACCP accredited Residency is recommended. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Hours of work: 24 hour/7days per week on-call responsibility.
