Job Details JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general director of the Assistant Director, Pharmacotherapy Services, provides clinical pharmacy services to patients of all ages in the pharmacist's area of specialty. Routinely interacts with physicians and nurses to make recommendations regarding drug therapy of patients. Educates staff pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy students, and post graduate trainees, as well as other allied health professionals, nurses, and physicians in pharmacotherapy in the pharmacist's area of specialty. Participates in drug information and Pharmacy and Therapeutics activities in his/her specialty area, and participates in and supports clinical research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires Doctor of Pharmacy degree plus appropriate residency or fellowship training. (If hired for a specialty area where specialty resideny training is available, then specialty residency is required). Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals of various educational backgrounds and disciplines. Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to maintain flexibility and adjust priorities in response to changing needs of the environment. Knowledge of computer systems and pharmaceutical applications and ability to enter and retrieve information from systems (e.g., computer, fax machine, and tube system). Ability to solve complex pharmacotherapeutic problems by applying knowledge from education experience and apply benefit analysis to clinical decision making. Ability to develop ideas and solutions to problems related to both patient care and research. Significant experience as a clinical specialist, practitioner or coordinator for at least 5 years, which includes providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring, may be taken into consideration in the absence of advanced education. Candidates must have or be eligible for licensure in Ohio. Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of the job.
